The Power of the Sneaker
November 15, 2019 @ 6:00PM — 7:30PM Eastern Time (US & Canada)
Hoops 4 Hope • Middle Schools Alliance | Fast Break • Buckley and Marymount’s 6th Graders
Buckley and Marymount students are invited to The Power of the Sneaker, an event sponsored by the Middle Schools Alliance in conjunction with Hoops 4 Hope. Through interactive games and music, students will be introduced to the organization’s work in Africa and its model of learning by having fun. All activities are based around H4H’s 7 Tools of a Champion and will be led by H4H Founder, Mark Crandall, and H4H Team member, Levy Mwanza, from Zimbabwe.
The 7 Tools of a Champion are Focus, Sense of Humor, Self-Awareness, Integrity, Responsibility, Self-Awareness and Ubuntu (empathy). After some games in the gym, students will be given the opportunity to create and design a card to be placed in the sneakers we are donating to young people in Zimbabwe. A short video of the H4H program in Africa will be shown and some snacks will be offered.
Please consider bringing a sneaker donation for this program - H4H accepts new and gently used sneakers in good condition of any size. A donation of $25 or more is suggested for registration.
